Women working at new Corporate India

The style of functioning in corproate sector has undergone tremandous makeover and changes compared to pre-liberalisation era. You often see places where more women occupie the position than men and more women stay late night alone at work premises. If we look at the BPO sector most women work in night shifts too indicating the changes the working culture of the country has undergone.
This has resulted more money in the hands of women, more freedon to spend, etc. Its always good to see any person for that matter earning more money if the person is using the same for the economic development of self, family and the nation.
But this earning and purchasing power of women in modern india, has spilling more of negative impacts on the society than what one expects to be.
It will not be wrong to say most / all women spoke these days who work for BPO /Software sectors and there by causing serious damage to their health as well spoiling the younger generation. Its more becoming an fashion trend for girls these days to hold the Cigarattes in the corporate campuses. More they may be feeling a sign to show that they are superior / equal to men. But unfortunately the reality is by such acts neither they achieve their intentions nor that improves their wellbeing. Its only spoiling the way the people view them. Men in this area spoiled themselves long ago and women was different but not anymore.
I often see near my company girls may be new graduates holding cigaratees......many times i see the women entering the smoking zone even before stepping in to the office. Probably they are trying to release the pressure accumulated due to non smoking at home before their parents during the night stay. This shows the extent to which Girls are accustomed to this ill in modern corporate arena.
Another area which is having huge cultural impact on Women due to liberalised and Globalised economy is consumption of Alcohol. Its the women these days who are consuming hectic quantity of hot drinks these days in any office parties. They are the first to turn up to the parties.....but if you think they will be participating in any meetings / tema bulding events...then you are mistaken........they will be the place where they can lift the fresh wine .....days have gone when they used to limit themselves to Beer alone.
Once girls drunk.........u know the condition of them........ then coming in to picure few guys with vested interests in the picure trapping these gals.....
So over a period of time....this is leading to a scenario where Gals cannot live without Somking,Drinking and without these guys.
As the time progresses.....these ills degrading the social values of the women in the society. The origional ills of men...Smoking and Drinking were inherited by Women these days and they further developed and integrated themselves in to the menace to a extent which is inseperable from their current life style.

Leadership - A position / action?

Its been the long accepted reality in India that Leadership is about a position and not about action. Let us consider a CEO of a company who merely talks and talks for months and years doing nothing......do you still consider him as a leader?
on the otherhand let us consider a office housekeeping supervisor to whom 5 persons reports and he ensures each and every activity is completed well before the time and every sub-ordinate complete the tasks in time and keeps them with high morale always- do you feel this supervisor is not a leader?
so its not about holding a designation and talking and talking hours together in a closed meeting rooms which makes a person a Leader, it is the extent to which a person drives the organisational goals down the floor level making each and every employee realising that if the goals of the organisation are achieved then by default individuals goals and needs will be achieved. This brings a sence of belongingness in the organisation and each and every employees strives hard to achieve the common goal. Once this situation prevails in the organisation due to the efforts of the leader....sales improves, margins improves and customers feel quite happy with the way the organisation is responding towards them. This leads to what is known as "Collective Leadership driven organisation".
Unfrotunately we can see in most organisations where so called leaders who became leaders by holding a position develop coterie around them and tries to run the show through them. Over a period of time all the employees out of this coterie start feeling frustrated with the actions of the so called leader and coterie and start loosing interest in the organisation. Such disstressed employees leave the organisation the sooner they find a alternative job. As most employees leave the jobs due to this scenario....sales crumbles, margins disappears.....finally organisation vanishes.
Where as another set of action oriented leaders drivers the organisation with less lectures and with more actions involving most of the performance and capability driven employees towards building long term successful organisation. This sect of leaders normally don't talk much but listens a lot to people around them in the organisation and tries to understand the ground reality. Here each and every move have the organisational success as a prime motto rather than individual / coterie goals.
So it is important to understnad what type of organisation in which one is working and what type of leader under whom one is working...Because a Worker under a leader who assumed the title by position than the action will only lead you in the short run. So if you want a career driven by skills and capabilities in the long run ...then search and work for a leader who is a leader by action and not a leader by position.

Corruption and Blackmoney in India

Corruption & Blackmoney are the two instruments more often and quite frequently synonymously used by indian politicians to earn and park illegal wealth. Although these topics are discussed at length in parliamnet and out of parliament numerous times, the country has been failed to eradicate this menace from the system and unfortunately this has been growing day by day since independence and today it reached a stage where it is threatining to derail the entire growth story of India.
It will not be wrong if any of us says "India is a country....where no works can be get done where the Government is involved without paying bribe".
Is it not possible to curb the Blackmoney: May not possible for Indian politicians since they are born and brought up in the same. However, I think its possible.

1). Curb the Physical cash holding: Impose a limit of around Rs.50,000/- as a maximum limit of cash holding by any individual at any point of time. If anybody holds above this limit, impose a life imprisionment.

2). Ban purchases and Sales in cash: Any purchase and sale of any commodities / items whose value is above Rs.5,000/-. should be transacted through Cheques / plastic money(Debit /credit card).
Impacts of above two steps:
1). Even if somebody accumulate blackmoney, he cannot use the same since any purchase /sale above Rs.5,000/- is not allowed in physical currency- So balckmoney tend to become waste and over period of time nobody intends to accumulate the same since the use is less due to above.
2).Since the cash holding limit is restricted -people will fear for holding excess cash and avoid using holding the same.

Requirements for the above:
As you are aware our politicians known to change the minds of people on matters which are favourable to them. For Example:-Income tax on agricultural Income. Most politicians in this country eavding taxes and parking their blackmoney earned through corruption as income from agricultural income. Although the legitamate purpose of exempting agricultural income is to help the farmers who earn seasonal agricultural income, the politicians are using this. Whenever anya ttempt is made to tax this worng side ...the politicians go back to farmers and try to raise emotional feelings with farmers....consequently many times the governements in the past backtracked fearing they may loose the farmers votes.
So in order to avoid similar scenario of agricultural income, the government /SBI should be mandated to open the Savings bank account for all the population of the country in a span of 5-6 months with minimum dposit amount(May be INR 100 /200).This may appear difficult task in theory to complete in 6 months...however most people in the country has the bank accounts. For children , they should get add -on cards linked to their parents accounts which will really help to track the parents income.
Once the above is done, whether it is a rent payment, purchase of car, payment to school fee, everything needs to be doen either though net-banking , debit /credit cards/ cheques. This bring compeltely accounted money in the country....at the end eradicate the blackmoney.
